our story
kate benson is a mixed-media artist out of wendell, nc. although not formally trained, she has been creating and experimenting with art for most of her life. her most recent exploration involves utilizing as many second-hand or recycled materials as possible to renew and refresh items that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
kate refurbishes old frames and fills them with her abstract pieces made of primarily drywall plaster, acrylic paint and pigment.
the end result is a statement piece that would make a beautiful addition to any room in one’s home - and, of course, a reduction of waste in our rapidly-filling landfills.
